Too much is jammed into such little time, and If we’re not careful, it could ruin the rest of the day. This is why it’s important to make sure that you start your day on a positive note. Make your bed

While growing up, most of us were told that the first thing to be done after waking up is to make our beds. While we all got the importance of making neatness a habit, it didn’t stop us from wondering if it even mattered. After all, our beds will be just as messy the following morning, right?

While that’s true, this default part of any morning routine is more than just another chore to fill up our time. It actually sets us up for a better day as finished tasks encourage us to become more productive.

The effect would be much better if we treateven the smallestpart of our morning routines as small victories, be it brushing your teeth, a quick shower, watering your plants, or even making your bed. This rule that is taught to us as children can make us realize that a little bit of positivity can go a long way.

Ditch your noisy alarm clock

While everyone wishes that we can all just be woken up by our natural body clocks, it’s just something that parents have less time (pun intended) for.

To make matters worse, your standard alarm clock does a great job of rubbing it in every morning with its strategy of jolting us out of bed using noise.

Starting the day would be a lot easier if we go with a more natural and refined way of being woken up by using quiet alarm clocks. They accomplish these by using artificial sunlight to gentle vibrations, or a combination of both. An added bonus is it prevents you and your family from waking up the whole house with just a single alarm.

Make your routine worth waking up to

While a morning routine is mostly designed to lessen mornings’ hassle, a good part of it should also be for the things that we actually enjoy.

Listening to musicor reading a book while sipping coffee not only helps wake us up mentally, but it gives us a sweet dose of dopamine.

Whatever it is, the point is to add something to your routine that you’ve enjoyed for as long as you remember. And while you may not have much time to spend, shortening it doesn’t take away its effectiveness. Reading just a few chapters of a book that you like is a quick and simple addition to brighten up your mornings.

Your morning routine should not just be some list that you follow just to be able to hurl yourself into the hustle and bustle of everyday life. A morning routine would work best if it is, on its own, another thing that you’d be glad to wake up to.
